Lana Del Rey recently released her new book Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass. To celebrate, she had a book signing at The Grove in front of Barnes & Noble. The singer was signing copies and posing with fans while wearing a face covering that didn’t meet health standards.

With COVID-19 well underway, the importance of wearing a mask is continuously engraved into our everyday lives. A disposable or cotton face covering is the best choice in controlling the spread of the virus.

The singer shared her unique look moments before her book signing. Her mask doesn’t seem to spark concern to others but you can see Lana Del Rey is the only one without an appropriate cotton face mask.

A medical educator who specializes in treating infectious diseases at the University of California, San Francisco had some words to share about the celebrity’s face covering.

Dr. Peter Chin Hong says, “The holes are so big in the mesh that you might as well be wearing nothing.” He adds, “I can draw a mask on my face with a magic marker and it would have the same efficiency as a mesh mask.”

Fans too had lots to say about the mask over Twitter, some even quoting one of her songs “Born to Die”.

It is very important to wear an appropriate face mask in public areas to protect yourself and others. Are you disappointed with this choice of face covering? Then see businessman John Mcafee wears a woman’s thong as a face mask.
