Desolate Scottish Island Witnesses First Crime In 20 Years

This is why we need the Purge (kidding).

The little remote island of Gigha (think strangely devoid Scotland) has suffered literally zero crime these past 20 years, with the only major crime recorded being a stolen bicycle. Apparently, however, this island is in for some scandals – some lucky lass stole £2k from the Gigha Hotel last Saturday night (dramaaaa!).

The Isle of Gigha (pronounced “geea”) is some seven miles long and about a mile and a half wide. It is aligned with the west.

Arthur Katilius, food and beverage manager at the hotel, released the following statement:

“The hotel was full, there were people in B&Bs, and some boats on the pontoons. It is a shock in a small island community where everybody knows each other. The place is to get CCTV now. As soon as we came into the hotel, we could see that something was wrong, and money had been taken. It is quite sad.”

I’m not going to lie to you – if I were a resident on the island, I would probably be quite hyped to actually have a real-life crime happen in my boring little hometown. I’m not quite sure how the residents actually feel about this – especially considering the lack of police force to fix the problem -, but hey, it’s really something to tell the grandkids about.
