If you think that you have experienced the neighbour from hell, this story may very well change your mind, because what you’re about to read is absolutely shocking.

The man in the picture above is Peter Robinson-Graham, 78, who has been terrorising residents at an over-55s living complex called Conisburgh Court in Carlisle, Cumbria, and has now subsequently been jailed for four-and-a-half months due to his display of anti-social behaviour to fellow neighbours of the complex.

What is it that he could have done that has landed him in jail you might be asking yourself. Well, it seems it wasn’t one incident alone, but an accumulation of things, including:

  • Singing “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” at his window, half-naked
  • Exposing himself in the communal gardens
  • Singing “Ten Green Bottles” and John Brown’s “Body” at various times throughout the day
  • Slamming doors shut as hard as possible
  • Banging and rattling his walking stick against walls and radiators constantly
  • Swearing and making rude gestures at neighbours

Neighbour of Peter’s, an elderly woman who lived above him in the complex, explained that when Peter was creating disturbances, he would show absolutely no remorse for his actions when people asked him to calm down. She said: “My husband and I are woken almost every morning by the defendant shouting, banging and singing. Often he bangs what sounds like his walking stick against the walls or radiators, which makes a huge banging noise. This is followed by singing and shouting outside his flat at the front of his flat before he slams the door shut again.” Peter’s neighbour also said that her and her husband had moved to Conisburgh Court for retirement and peace and quiet, but that their neighbour ruined this.

Another neighbour said: “He is always wearing a bath robe, which is always partly or fully open, exposing himself, which is unacceptable and we should not have to witness this on a daily basis”.

You can’t help but feel sorry for the residents of the complex, but the good news is that Castles & Coasts Housing Association have stated Peter will be evicted from the property as soon as he is released from prison, which kind of goes without saying really. I wonder who will have the pleasure of housing him next?
