The Sandman is Netflix’s popular fantasy drama that was released on August 5, 2022. The show was based on the comic book written by Neil Gaiman. It focuses on Dream, also known as Morpheus. He is one of the seven Endless (Destiny, Death, Dream, Despair, Destruction, Delirium, and Desire). The series was created by Gaiman, Allan Heinberg, and David S. Goyer.

The plot and the acting were greatly appreciated and enjoyed by fans across the country and it became number one globally on Netflix’s Top 10 titles. The show stars Tom Sturridge, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, and Patton Oswalt.

The show’s first season concluded with eleven episodes and was renewed for another run in November 2022. This coming season, fans will be introduced to Delirium. Along with Delirium, we can expect to see some characters returning including Dreams of Death, Desire, and Despair.

In season 1 we saw Morpheus being captured and held for 106 years by Roderick Burgess. The plot focuses on his return to the Dreaming and trying to find his totems of power i.e., his helm, a pouch of sand, and his ruby. During this, he ends up finding Corinthian and restoring the glory of his kingdom.

The rumors of its spin-off are also in the market with it being centered on Johanna Constantine.

As per the latest updates, Netflix is thinking about releasing new episodes in batches instead of all at once. This is not the first time Netflix has taken this approach. Previously, we have seen shows like Stranger Things, Firefly Lane, and You and Manifest being released in the same manner.
