At last.

At last.

Perfect for those times where you’re desperate for a steak bake, but can’t be arsed to get of the car.

Gone are the days when McDonalds were the only food outlet with a drive-thru. In recent years, Starbucks and Krispy Kreme have opened drive-thru stores, and now Greggs has jumped on the bandwagon, too!

Their first and (so far) only drive-thru store has opened at Irlam Gateway Service Station in Salford, and will no doubt be a lifesaver for busy commuters in the Greater Manchester area – especially seeing as it’s open from 6am. And the best part is, if this drive-thru proves successful, Greggs will roll out this service nationwide!

Roger Whiteside, Chief Executive for Greggs, had this to say:

“When it comes to food on-the-go, our customers tell us that convenience is key. We’ve been working hard to take Greggs to where our customers need and want us to be including office parks, industrial estates, retail parks and travel hubs.

A drive-thru offers the ultimate convenience and seemed the logical next step for us to take. This is a first for Greggs and we are excited to trial the concept in Irlam, Manchester.”

So, there you have it! Convenience food has been taken to the next level. Now you don’t have to interrupt a long journey if you’re hankering for a pasty. Or, if you fancy something healthier, you can always pick something a little different!
