Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, aka MGK, celebrated Valentine’s Day with actress girlfriend Megan Fox by showing off a pendant which seemed to contain a drop of Fox’s blood.
Yes, you read that right, MGK revealed the unusual piece of jewellery on his Instagram account on Sunday. The circular pendant features a glass middle which appears to have a single droplet of blood on it.
The rapper posted his location as ‘My Bloody Valentine’, in reference of both Valentine’s day and his own hit single with Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and captioned the pic: “I wear your blood around my neck.”
We can only resume the droplet belongs to Fox, who celebrated her first Valentine’s with MGK this year.
Fox made her own Instagram post in tribute to MGK with a photo collage captioned: “There goes my heart/ manifest outside of my body/ draped in the towering silhouette of a most unusually handsome boy.
“Magical and haunted/ kinetic and tortured/ ethereal and dangerous/ cosmic lawless eternal creative genius/ the journey will likely be perilous/ but there is no destination without him.
“Happy valentine’s day rehab barbie.”
Weirdly enough, MGK isn’t the first celeb to show his devotion to his partner by wearing a blood necklace.
Before Brangelina, Angelina Jolie dated Billy Bob Thornton, and the duo famously wore necklaces with a droplet of each other’s blood as they walked down the red carpet.
Billy Bob later revealed that the whole thing was blown out of proportion by the press. He stated that the pair had only jabbed themselves with a pen and smeared some blood on a bit of paper.
It quickly escalated in the tabloids, leading Billy Bob to add: “But, by the time it came out in the press it sounded like we were wearing a bucket of blood around our necks.”
But back to Fox and MGK, speaking to Nylon last year, Megan said their relationship was “intense” and compared it to a tsunami or a forest fire.
“The intensity of merging with him is just overwhelming,” she said “and the threat it poses is so powerful but so beautiful that you have no choice to surrender with reverence and with gratitude.
“There’s never an attempt to control him on my end,” she went on. “It’s more that he looks to me to avoid his own self-destructive tendencies. And that’s where I’m useful, because on his own and left to his own devices, I don’t know how much interest he has in caring for himself.”
