Pizza Loves Emily, also known as Emily, has two locations: Brooklyn and the West Village, New York. It is home to the famed Emmy burger. It was nominated the best burger in the country and the best burger in New York City by many publications.
The burger went on the menu about a year ago, and has steadily evolved over time.
The Emmy burger consists of dry aged beef, EMMY sauce, caramelized onion, and Grafton cheddar, on a pretzel bun with a side fries and a cornichon.
“We specialize in pizza, but we are well known for the burger.” Matthew Hyland said, chef and co-owner at Emily.
Many customers say what brings it all together is the EMMY sauce. Which consists of gochujang, fish sauce, kewpie, and a few other secret ingredients.
Hyland said, “As much as I love a classic burger, I wanted to have something that was a little more what I wanted in a flavor profile.”
The Emmy burger costs $28.00, but as many customers would say: “There’s no other burger like this in NYC, so if you want to experience it for yourself, get here early – a lot of other people want to eat it too.”
