Purple Hearts premiered on Netflix on July 29th, and people still can’t seem to stop discussing the romantic drama film. As of August 2nd, it’s listed at the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s top 10 movie list, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be budged any time soon.
The Plot
Purple Hearts involves Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine as two people with extensively different worldviews who agree to enter a momentary marriage exclusively for the military benefits. Carson plays the role of Cassie Salazar, who is an aspiring musician who tries her best to track down her dreams while living with Type I diabetes. At the time of a chance encounter, Cassie comes across Luke Morrow, a U.S. Marine with his difficulties. Cassie and Luke don’t get along immediately; however, once they realize one thing they have in common is a financial deficit, they decide to have a marriage of convenience. Although, falling in love was not a part of the plan.
What is a Purple Heart?
A purple heart is a medal that’s awarded to members of the U.S. armed forces who have been wounded or killed while serving the nation. It is one of the most prominent and respected medals to be presented as a service member. Also, it exhibits how much a service member sacrificed while in the line of duty.
