‘Purple Hearts’: Will Netflix Create a Sequel For The Hit Romantic Military Drama?

Netflix

Purple Hearts is a romantic drama film on Netflix, and people have wasted no time streaming it to see what the fuss is all about. People who’ve watched it are already yearning for more and wondering if there will be a sequel.

What’s it about?

Purple Hearts is a Netflix original movie piloted by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum from a script co-written by Kyle Jarrow and Liz Garcia. It’s based on the 2017 book that had the same name by Tess Wakefield. It narrates the story of an aspiring singer and a troubled U.S. Marine who approve of a marriage of convenience for military advantages. However, when an unexpected tragedy occurs, and the soldier is sent back home earlier than expected, what was presumed to be a fake marriage turns into a real one.

Who are the stars?

Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine play the leading roles of Cassie and Luke. The rest of the cast contains Chosen Jacobs, John Harlan Kim, Anthony Ippolito, Kat Cunning, Sarah Rich, Scott Deckert, and Linden Ashby.

What we know about a potential sequel

As of July 29th, Netflix has not announced if there is going to be a sequel. However, the chances of a Purple Hearts 2 is very little to none. The romantic drama closes neatly, with Cassie and Luke ending up together, and therefore, a continuation of the story appears unnecessary.

Never say never, but it looks unlikely at this stage.
