Will There Be A Sex Education Season 4?

3 seasons just isn’t enough.

Sex Education was confirmed to be returning for a third season back in February 2020 via an announcement video on Netflix’s official Youtube channel. It’s confirmed that the new season will be available to stream on the series’ long-time home, Netflix, from the 17th September this year. But have Netflix confirmed a season 4, or is this the end of the road?

Netflix is currently in the middle of a huge series of releases– something that shouldn’t really be surprising given the platform’s history of content. But can we expect a fourth season of Sex Education to be one of them?

If the show were to be re-renewed- given the track record of the show’s releases- it would be wise to assume that season 4 wouldn’t air until around mid 2022, with the first season streaming in January 2019 and the second in January 2020. As with all things, though, it’s unknown if the pandemic will have any long-lasting effects on production and may throw a wrench in the estimates.

The third season’s announcement trailer shows Mr Groff walking through the hallways of a Moordale art exhibit- and the subjects of the paintings look somewhat familiar.

The cast for the upcoming third season is set to have all the same characters as the seasons prior, with all actors reprising their roles. In addition to this, there are set to be a few newcomers: a new headmistress of Moordale called Hope, a new non-binary student called Cal who clashes with the headmistress, and Peter Groff- Mr Groff’s more successful and less modest older brother.
