As more and more businesses are refusing entry to the mask-less, this industry continues to boom. And Big Cat Rescue is taking notes.
If you aren’t stocked up on masks, you can get one from the Big Cat Rescue shop online. Big Cat Rescue is a Florida rehabilitation center for large cats, and is dedicated to ending the trade of them. Earlier in 2020, Netflix dropped a docu-series about private zoos that specialize in big cats (like tigers), called Tiger King. Immediately, it was a huge hit. This series also followed personal feuds between Joe Exotic, who is the titular Tiger King, and Carole Baskin, who runs Big Cat Rescue.
Now, Baskin is taking advantage of her newfound internet fame by using her catch-phrase to sell face masks. These masks show Baskin’s now-famous line, “Hey all you cool cats and kittens”. Plus, a cartoon cat mouth is also printed on the masks. They are available on the Big Cat Rescue site.
According to their product description, a portion of the proceeds from each mask “goes directly to supporting the big cats”. And, “a portion of our proceeds going directly to supplying free face masks to first responders”. Each mask costs $11, and they ship internationally. Even Carole herself sports both the black and leopard print masks in a Big Cat Rescue Facebook page.
