So you can avoid them.

Japan Airlines has provided the feature of viewing a baby seat map as you’re checking in to your flight to avoid infants.

Smiling child icons on the airline’s website show ticket buyers where toddlers and babies will be sitting.

Twitter user @dequinix, thanked Japan Airlines by tweeting a photo of the new feature and the caption: “Thank you, @JAL_Official_jp for warnings me about where babies plan to scream and yell during a 13 hour trip. This really ought to be mandatory across the board.”

”Passengers travelling with children between 8 days and 2 years old who select their seats on the JAL website will have a child icon displayed on their seats on the seat selection screen,” reads the airline’s website.

But according to the New York Times, other airlines do not plan to jump on the bandwagon.

Brian Parrish, a spokesman for Southwest Airlines, said the company had no plans for a similar feature.  American Airlines’ spokesperson said:  “We are happy to transport adults, children and infants.”
