Is Kendrick Lamar’s Next Album About To Drop?

Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, the boss of the American Label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) announced on Twitter that four new albums from his label will be released before the end of 2018.

DJ Booth also reports that the hip-hop world would be rocked, by eagerly awaited albums from Schoolboy Q, Reason, Isaiah Rashad and Ab-Soul. However, some rumours have set the ball rolling that it is actually Lamar who will be releasing his next album with the label.

On September 2nd, Isaiah Rashad invited his fans to follow him in the studio via Instagram to tease about the arrival of his upcoming third album. After providing details about the latest project, the Tennessee rapper, sitting alongside Tiffith, ended the Instagram live by stating that he had just heard the solo album by Kendrick Lamar, provisionally titled Damn Near. “[Anthony Tiffith] just played me a whole [K] dot album, damn near”,  he told the camera and the viewers.

For now, no mention has been made and no rumours have been confirmed for the album however the seeds of hype and excitement have been planted.  If we take Isaiah Rashad’s declaration seriously, then the Compton rapper could be back soon with his fifth album. Which is very impressive considering that it has only been seventeen months since the Pulitzer winning album DAMN, was released.
