Be the Poe of Prophylactics and join thousands in advertising safe sex practices in the ONE® Condoms poetry contest. Compete for the chance to have your short poem featured on condom wrappers across North America, a year-long supply of—365—condoms, a condom donation to your organization of choice, and a cash prize.

Who are ONE® Condoms?

ONE® Condoms’ mission is to “work with communities across the globe to increase access to premium condoms and lubricants. [They] subsidize and donate … best-selling ONE® products to hundreds of clinics, nonprofits, and organizations.” Their efforts began in 1987 when the company’s founder, Davin Wedel, decided to lobby for safe sex practices on his school campus in the midst of the AIDS crisis and employed his school’s mascot—Jumbo—to encourage the use of condoms.

Why buy their products?

As an internationally successful company devoted solely to the sale of external protection over-the-penis condoms (as well as lubricants) you can imagine that their products have an array of features that set them apart from the competition and mark them as pioneers in the field of intimate prophylactics. One such feature is their letter and number sizing system. It corresponds to penal length and girth measurements respectively, like how bra sizes measure around the chest and cup size.

The sizing system guarantees that anyone who does proper measurements and orders will get condoms in one of 52 sizes that fit well and feel well. Only 57% of purchasers of ONE® Condoms products have penises; their products are meant to be enjoyed by everyone involved, and this reflects in their customer base. Condoms shouldn’t just protect you from unwanted consequences. They should be fun to have on you and in you!

Inage of condom sizing chart. Girth number codes from tight to loose: 45, 47, 49, 51, 53, 55, 57, 60, 64, 69. Length letter codes (mm): C (120), D (132), E (144), F (156), G (168), H (181), J (194), K (207), L (220), M (235). Most off the shelf condoms are size 53H. The average penis length is approx. 139mm (between D and E).

Special features

Of course, another reason they are so successful is the novelty and range of their products. For example, they have FlavourWave condoms, including Chocolate Strawberry, Fresh Mint, Bubblegum, Island Punch, Banana Split, and Mint Chocolate flavors. They are sugar free and safe to use during both oral and penetrative intercourse. Their Super Stud condoms are covered in raised ridges to enhance the pleasure of both parties in play. Additionally, their condoms come in a variety of colors and designs, such such as the Tattoo Touch and the glow-in-the-dark Glowing Pleasures condoms. Recently, ONE has even begun to produce and sell graphene-latex condoms!

Graphene is highly heat conductive, one million times thinner than human hair, and 200 times stronger than steel, so your experience will feel natural while keeping you safe from STIs, STDs, and other potential complications. ONE’s products represent the future of the industry!

The ‘Poe of Prophylactics’ Poetry Competition; An Outline

ONE® markets their product through artistic innovation. This means visual art of all kinds, such as their Project CONDOM fashion shows. Now, after decades of collaboration with diverse artists, ONE® has made the decision to branch out their wrapper designs to include short (300 character maximum) poems.

That’s where the ‘Be the Poe of Prophylactics’ competition comes in! Whip out your wordplay! This is your chance to have one of your short poems seen by thousands of people internationally. Whether you favor rhymes, puns, or limericks, you can win a supply of ONE®’s condoms and a $1,000 USD prize! Second place will get $500, and third through tenth place will win $300.

“It’s time to let your Longfellow loose, shake it like Shakespeare, and get Wilde. ONE® has always inspired people to harness their creative genius and wit to get people talking about condoms–and now we’re excited to combine rubbers with rhymes.”

Davin Wedel, founder and president of ONE® Condoms

As long as you don’t use AI, the sky’s the limit! This is a call to action to amuse and entertain while promoting safe sex practices and filling in the sexual education gaps left by the school system. Everyone has a right to make informed decisions regarding their sexual health, and you can help make that happen! ONE® has even pledged to donate 5,000 condoms to your organization of choice in Canada or the United States so that people who are disenfranchised or too young to recognize safe sex practices can access the protection they need.

Safe sex PSA

Safe sex does not just mean using condoms. Safe sex means using condoms the proper way and communicating with your partners to ensure that everyone involved is comfortable. Porn is not a realistic or desirable depiction of sex. You must educate yourself on your body and on the different ways that bodies can function.

Condoms and lubricants

For example, ONE®’s condoms are medically cleared as safe for use in anal intercourse. That is not the case with every condom. Some people will need more lubricants to feel comfortable than others. Some people are allergic to latex, which is a primary ingredient in many condoms. Things that aren’t part of your body should not be left in for extended periods of time without a doctor’s explicit instruction to do so. Toxic Shock Syndrome is rare, but it can be deadly. When it comes to protection, check that whatever you’re using is up to date. Condoms should be stored in a cool, dry place, and even then, they have a five year expiration date. If they feel brittle, then they are liable to break.

The use of bodily generated and artificial lubricant can guard against condom breakage. So can wearing a condom that is big enough to comfortably accommodate the penis. You should never reuse condoms or layer them on top of each other. It can increase the chance of breakage and cut off blood flow to the covered member. Additionally, it is important to never use oil-based lubricants such as coconut oil on latex-based condoms, as this can damage them and cause them to rip.

Take care

This has been a Safe Sex Public Service Announcement. Be safe and get gratified. Submit a poem and support the promotion of sexual education and safe sex practices!
