TR!LL TR !LL

Trill is an independent media platform where
emerging voices develop the skills, confidence,
and reach to shape journalism’s future.

About Us

Founded in 2015, Trill is an independent media platform where emerging voices develop the skills, confidence, and reach to shape journalism’s future.

We exist to fill a critical gap: too many talented storytellers are shut out of legacy media due to systemic barriers, lack of access, or commercial gatekeeping. At Trill, we provide an inclusive space for new writers, journalists, and creatives to publish original work that drives conversation and challenges convention.

Our editorial model centers on mentorship, freedom from corporate influence, and rigorous creative development. We are proudly non-profit and a member of the national body SPA Journalism in the UK.

Our mission isn’t scale; it’s impact. Every contributor receives hands-on support, professional growth opportunities, and a chance to collaborate within a global peer network.

Unlike platforms that chase clicks or cater to algorithms, we prioritize depth, integrity, and authenticity. Trill is not just a publication—it’s the publishing arm of our nonprofit, Trill Voices.

Together, they form one mission: to open doors into media for those who have historically been excluded.

To open real pathways into media for the people and perspectives too often excluded.

Our Mission

Courage
Clarity
Curiosity

The media industry is changing—but access hasn’t caught up. That’s where Trill Voices comes in. As the nonprofit organization behind Trill, it bridges the gap by offering practical training, one-on-one editorial guidance, and a platform for bold, impactful storytelling. We help new voices move from “aspiring” to “published” without compromising who they are or what they want to say.

We believe great journalism is rooted in curiosity, clarity, and courage—not privilege. That’s why we make our platform accessible from day one, providing the tools, mentorship, and support to turn creative potential into real-world influence.

Many of our interns join through partnerships with over 50 universities worldwide, where their work with Trill earns them academic credit. But our doors remain open to all: whether student, graduate, or self-taught, anyone can develop their voice and find a platform here.

Through structured editorial development, collaborative editing, and a growing global network, we’re building a more representative media future—where inclusion isn’t a slogan, but a system.

Our mission is urgent,
but clear:
To make space where there was none. 01
To transform promise into purpose. 02
To give tomorrow’s storytellers the tools—and the
audience—they deserve today.

Our Partnerships &
Open Access

Many of the interns who join Trill Voices come through university partnerships—over 50 institutions across the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand recognize our program for academic credit.

But while we’re proud of these collaborations, Trill is not limited to students. We operate with an open access policy, ensuring that anyone—whether in university, recently graduated, or pursuing a self-taught path—can develop their voice and find a platform here.

The Next Few Years Will
Shape a Generation.
Corporate media is failing Gen Z. Billionaire-backed platforms chase clicks and culture wars, while the issues that define our future go underreported or ignored.
That’s why Trill Voices exists.

At Trill, we mentor, train, and publish emerging writers from across the Gen Z spectrum. Our contributors report on what actually matters: housing, identity, climate, mental health, inequality—and they do it with nuance, honesty, and heart.

To keep growing this work—and to ensure more young people can break into media and be heard—we need 1,000 new monthly supporters.

Breakfast Producer, GB News | TRIC Award Winner | BJTC Accredited TV Journalist

“The best part of working at Trill was the creative freedom it provided. It was my first foray into journalism outside of university, and where I began to find my voice. I remain deeply passionate about human interest stories, so I really enjoyed the opportunity Trill provided to allow me to write on such stories. I would recommend anyone interested in kickstarting their career in media to get involved!”
