The new trailer has just dropped and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever.
Geralt of Rivia is back. Netflix has just dropped the new trailer for season two of the witcher, and it’s full of familiar faces and new ones. Geralt is expected to take on a more “tender side” according to the showrunner and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. This is because of his new paternal role in looking after Princess Cirilla.
The Netflix synopsis gives us a glimpse of the series:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.”
It continues:
“While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
All of the main cast are back, from Henry Cavill himself to Anya Chalotra. The series is set to drop on the seventeenth of December according to the trailer, just in time to binge on those cold Christmas nights.
The actor who plays Cirila has also given her take on her character’s development throughout the season, commenting “Ciri is lacking trust in people, generally, and he’s trying to understand this girl he’s looking after.”
As for Ynnifer, shes set to go on a journey of self discorvery according to Chalotra who plays her, “She makes some unlikely alliances and it changes her way of thinking. It really changes her.”
Netflix has certainly done a good job of hyping up its audience, teasing us constantly with snippets. I’m sure many of us will be looking forward to settling down on the sofa to watch the whole season in one day. Who’s with me?
