As humans, we know how to party- but that’s no excuse to leave your dogs out of the fun. Katrina Short, a California-based dog groomer, gave her own poodle-y pooch a spooky scary makeover inspired by Halloween-themed cartoons.

The poodle in question (aptly named Zeus Zebradoodle) belongs to Short, an artistic groomer at Classy Canines Wiggle Rumps. Through some careful trims and dye placements, she managed to transform him into a festively (not to mention anatomically correct) skeletal form.

Regarding her inspirations for the look, Short said:

“I recently watched a movie with my kids called Frankenweenie. Once I got the idea, I could not sleep until I made it happen.

I did research on the anatomically correct skeleton of a standard poodle. The bones I carved out are exactly where they should be.”

Short frequently posts her canine creations on her Instagram page (@katrina_short) and has amassed a whopping 25.4k followers.

Even if you can’t treat your doggies to a fresh new outfit this season, that’s no excuse to skip out on pampering them this holiday season. While cracking open a cold one for yourself, why not treat your pooch to the same treatment?
