30 Year Old Man, Michael Rotondo Has Been Evicted From His Parents Home After They Went To Court.
Micheal Rotondo made headlines recently as his parents had to go to court in order to get him evicted from their home due to tense living situations.
At first, this just seems like a man leeching off his parents sort of situation, however when we delve deeper, its pretty shit for both sides of the battle.
According to The Daily Mail, Rotondo said that it was their failure to support his bid for custody of his eight-year-old son, whom he last saw on September 26 that had brought the family to this moment.
He states that he needed help with regaining custody of his son, however they started making demands. They also stopped providing food and doing his laundry.
however to put this situation into context, Rotondo never actually contributed to his parent’s house in anyway shape or form, he didn’t pay rent or pay for an expense etc.
Here is what he had to say to The Daily Mail:
I tried to file an appeal as a ‘poor person’ in order to waive legal fees moving forward but I couldn’t do this because my parents insisted I needed to get a job and health insurance when I was living with them. My full time job was getting my son back though.
They offered to pay for my health insurance but this compromised my ‘poor person’ filing. Then stopped providing food for me cut off my cell phone and said that I couldn’t use the laundry machines in the house anymore.
That’s it. That’s the end of my relationship with them other than court proceedings. There’s nothing more to say.
We are no longer speaking despite living under the same roof and atmosphere has been intense and difficult.
I thought I would have packed up everything by now but it’s daunting, it’s difficult. I have more than I thought.
My son’s toys all need to be boxed up. There’s more of them that’s accumulated than I thought.
There’s no more urgency now. Everything else is just finding a long-term place.
I’m looking for someplace inexpensive with internet.

Rotondo fund an airbnb which would be his home for the next week until he found a more permanent place. He is officially cutting ties with his parents who took him to court. They had given him a 3 month period in order to leave the premises to which he ignored the letters they sent him, they had to send him letters instead of telling him to just GTFU?
Rotondo demanded that he was to be given a six-month eviction period to which the judge declined, he had already been living with his parents for a decade.
During the court case, the judge wanted Rotondo to figure out this situation on his own with his parents however when he refused, the judge ordered him out of the house.
To make the moving out situation worse, and even more awkward, he tried to jump start the car (a Volkswagon) with all of his belongings only for the engine to sputter, and for there to be clouds of heavy exhaust fumes. Way to knock someone when they’re down.

This situation does sound crappy for Rotondo, however, his parents did not have it easy either, Rotondo didn’t contribute anything to his parents or the house. He was also given 5 letters for eviction, however, he ignored all of them.
And, according to his mother he did have visitation rights for his son, however, these have to occur when he’s accompanied by a medical professional, but he’s never exercised that right.
Apparently, this is because he’s exhibited a history of mental health problems during their custody battle and was also diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic at some point too.
This situation just got a lot sadder for both sides. However, the media has actually resented Rotondo as an absolute devil. But what do you guys think?
Is Rotondo the example of millennials in this day and age, being unable to afford housing, being unable to find a job and being sneered at by the older generation and media, or is this a situation that just cannot be generalised?
