On Tuesday, 26 March, 21-year-old Sofiane was beat up by French policemen on his way to deliver Amazon packages, after having forgot his certificate to travel outside during the lock-down.
In this delicate time, with new social distancing and government enforced lock-downs to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, many are losing touch with protocol.
Sofiane was filmed by a bystander, having left his father’s home to fulfill his job, but having forgot his certificate, he is chased by French police who proceed to beat him up.
The video below may be triggering for sensitive viewers in this fragile time:

Thankfully, this brutal act has been recognized by a local councilor and condemned, and an investigation into the arrest is set in place.
The Coronavirus pandemic has proved to be extremely socially straining on people, however, it is important to remember that this is especially why unity and support among communities is now more necessary than ever.
