Ivan Zaborsky, a 16-year-old Russian footballer was struck and left in a coma by lightning, as he was about to score a goal!
Earlier this week, Ivan and his fellow footballers were in a training session, when the lightning bolt struck and took everyone by surprise.
Watching this video reminds all of us a bit of our “unrealistic” phobias and fears that we have held onto since childhood, convincing ourselves that the chances are once in a gazillion.
Ivan is the goal keeper of the team, and he was training separate from others. Ivan usually has a metal chain around his neck, and wearing that necklace was very costly for him.
After the lightning hit, Ivan was put into a coma, and was left with a scar around his neck, due to the necklace he was wearing.
As he was about to be struck by lightning, it shows that he kicks the ball from the edge of the penalty area.
After the incident, his trainer and teammates rushed towards him, and the coach Anton Basov performed mouth to mouth on him. Afterward, Ivan was rushed out to the hospital and transformed by a helicopter to a clinic in Moscow!
Ivan’s girlfriend is the only source confirming that since he was transferred to the hospital, he has been in a “stable condition”.
