British food writer and television cook, Nigella Lawson, pronounces ‘microwave’ with a flair in a new episode of her show Cook, Eat, Repeat.

The internet went crazy over Lawson’s pronunciation of ‘mee-kro-wah-vay’, leaving many wondering if Lawson really pronounces ‘microwave’ this way.

One Twitter user tweeted, “Am I the only one who thought @Nigella_Lawson was being sarcastic when she pronounced Meecro-wavé?! Now, I’m starting to think she really pronounces it like that?”

Lawson responded saying, “Well, I do say it like that, but not because I think that’s how it’s actually pronounced”.

So there you go, people! Nigella Lawson is going to pronounce words the way she wants, whether it’s ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. After all, her pronunciation of ‘microwave’ is a lot more interesting and fun to say, so can you really blame her for saying it this way?
