It’s officially December, which means one thing and one thing only – it’s basically Christmas!
To get you into the holiday spirit, check out this performance from an incredible pianist performing ’12 Days of Christmas’ like you’ve never heard it before.
Check out the video here:
Charles Cornell showed off his stellar piano skills to bring what he dubbed an “utterly horrible idea” to life. He’s taken one of the most popular Christmas carols and turned it into an epic Jazz master piece that you can imagine being played in a high-end hotel lobby in New York.
Although Cornell isn’t a huge fan of his creation, asking viewers to “not play like this under any circumstances”, he’s brought an interesting twist to what is otherwise a rather monotonous song.
One viewer noted that it was an indeed a “fair amount of jazz”, whilst another thought the the over the top jazz techniques were a visual representation of them trying to reach the word count on their essays. As the song spans a whopping twelve verses, Charles got carried away, providing some truly amazing (and at times whacky) jazz sounds.
Whether you’re a jazz fanatic, or a just like to sing the original, it’s definitely getting us into the festive spirit – even if Charles isn’t a fan of what he’s produced.
