One year ago, the internet was introduced to Mark Rober and his Glitter Bombs to stop package thieves. This year, he went one step further.
Rober, a former Nasa engineer, and current YouTube content creator found too many of his packages stolen from his porch, so he invented the machine to get back at thieves. For the initial video, he created a fake package that would then spray thieves with glitter.
The original video currently has 78 million views. The second video already has 22 million views.
To help Rober to invent a more extreme bomb, he found help in Macaulay Culkin, of Home Alone fame. Culkin’s antics in the classic Christmas film inspired the first bomb, and his input in the second clearly worked, as something much worse was created.
Rober decided to step up the punishments in his second bout with package thieves. Alongside the glitter explosion (made with biodegradable glitter), he returned the fart spray from the original video, this time with a new formula – one all he tested it on found it to be much, much worse.
Not only that, but the scent sprayed every ten seconds to encourage thieves to dump the package as soon as possible.
However, the true new star of the show was the sound effects Rober added. Upon the glitter exploding and the fart spray releasing, the package suddenly starts to count down. Nothing happens at the end of the countdown, but imagine the stress that would put you under as a thief.
Especially when sound effects of police chatter then starts up.
The bombs, equipped with four phones, recorded the whole thing. So, if you want to see how the package thieves reacted, click the link to watch the video.
And thieves? Beware.
