Without a doubt, you have heard of the myriad tastes that Turkish cuisine has to offer: from kebab of all types to köfte and beyond. Turkish food, language, and culture are taking the world by storm with all its beauty.
Perhaps a lesser-known aspect of Turkish cuisine is its ice cream. That’s right: ice cream.
Turkish ice cream, or dondurma, has different ingredients from other types of ice cream. Instead, in Turkey, they use cream, whipped cream, salep, mastic, and sugar to make dondurma.
In the following video, you can see how the ice cream vendor is able to play with the elasticity of the dondurma–and he takes a large scoop.
Although the video does not specify where in India, it is likely that this incident occurred in the southwest of India where Malayalam is a predominant language.
The diffusion of Turkish ice cream has apparently also reached southwest India.
Turkish ice cream vendors are known to toy with their customers, as you can see in the video.
However, when the vendor prepares the massive scoop you see in the video, the customer has something else in mind. As the vendor goes to give the customer the giant ball of ice cream (or perhaps to toy with him more), the customer snatches the ice cream and runs away.
People standing around and observing begin to laugh as the customer runs away, his hands completely full with the basketball-sized blob of ice cream he’s just taken.
This time, instead of the ice cream vendor teasing the client, it appears the client got the best of the ice cream vendor.
