A far-right extremist is being held in a UK hospital indefinitely after having set fire to synagogue in the city of Exeter, Press Association (PA) reports.
52-year-old Tristan Morgan was described by one prosecutor as having “deep-rooted anti-Semitic belief” and Morgan himself admitted to arson, having a white supremacist handbook, and encouraging terrorism with a published song titled ‘White Man.’
A video showing Morgan starting the fire was captured and shared by local police. In the footage, which took place July 21st of last year, the arsonist uses a small axe to break a window of the synagogue, pours petrol inside, then ignites the liquid.
In a karmic turn of events, Morgan himself was engulfed by the flames, blowing off his cap and singing his hair. The fire also burned his hands and forehead, according to PA.
After performing his horrendous deed, Morgan was spotted and described by witnesses as laughing as he walked away from the burning building with petrol can in hand.
When arrested by police, Morgan reeked of petrol as he said, “Please tell me that synagogue is burning to the ground if not, it’s poor preparation,” PA reported.
According to PA, repairs to the room where the fire was started will cost more than £23,000.
