A TikTok video has surfaced documenting a terrifying obstacle course showing people attempting to walk across a course whilst suspended extremely high up in the air. At first glance, it looks like people are walking without any support, however, upon further inspection they are in fact protected by ropes and harnesses, but the course still looks terrifyingly dangerous.
The video, posted by @overtime on TikTok, has accumulated over 70 million views, however, it appears that viewers are divided by their opinion of the course. The video is captioned with the statement “bro what. not worth it” accompanied by people screaming whilst falling. Other comments on the video added ‘no f. way…never will I do this’ whilst another comment read ‘what is the point…like literally (shocked face) I mean zip wires are barbaric enough no thanks’. It seems that users are far from impressed.
Although the obstacle course still remains nameless, it has been discovered by news outlets on social media. ARY News retweeted the video with the caption, ‘this extreme obstacle course takes fear acrobats to next level’; highlighting the severity of the course.
However, some daring users commented on the video ‘cool’ and it is not surprisingly to imagine some thrill seekers loving the course. This particular obstacle course is positioned in China where activities like this are becoming increasingly popular.
The Ruyi Glass Bridge in the Zhejiang province of China has become increasingly popular as a tourist attraction. The bending bridge almost looks like it has been electronically produced as the construction bends in an almost unbelievable, curved fashion. The Ruyi Bridge is completely made of class and stands 140 metres above the ground. The bridge was originally constructed in 2017 and was opened as an attraction to locals in 2020. It has since become a fascination for both locals and tourists to visit and speculate over.
However, these sky rise obstacle courses take the thrill-seeking a step further and they are definitely not for the light-hearted. However, it appears that with over 70 million views, people prefer to watch adventure enthusiasts attempt the scary course, rather than try it themselves.
