Stunning video of Mont-Saint Micheal emptied of its tourists is straight out of a fantasy movie.
Mont-Saint Micheal, used to shoot Hogwarts scenes, was empty during the pandemic for the first time in years. Usually, the Abbey is one of the most visited tourist sites in France, with more than 1.335 million visitors in 2010. Benoit Finck decided not to waste the opportunity and shot this video using his GoPro and a drone.
The video gives the audience a birds-eye view of the Abbey, flying around the historic sight.
Built-in 1523, the abbey quickly became a pilgrimage and home to monks and priests who wished to study. The Island which the spectacular abbey sits on is only accessible at low tide, sometimes trapping people on the Island.
The Abbey was used to shoot Harry Potter scenes due to its stunning corridors and scenery.
After watching the video, I think we can all agree that Mont-saint Micheal is going on all of our bucket lists.
