Find an organization that fits in with your business’ mission – The first thing you need to do is think about what charity fits in with your business. Needless to say, it needs to be a cause you are passionate about, but it also needs to be right for your campaign too. Do your research – Not all charities are created equally, which is why you need to make the effort to do your research. Take the time to look online and see what other people have had to say about the non-profit organisation in question. Don’t only head directly to the organisation’s websites, but read articles on other news websites too. After all, your charitable efforts aren’t going to be very effective if your employees aren’t on board or passionate about it. Think about what matters to your employees. By considering what matters to them, not only will you make your charitable efforts more effective, but you will make your employees feel more appreciated, which will lead to improved retention rates.

Select a donation you can sustain – The final thing you need to do is make sure you choose a donation you can sustain. Yes, your intentions are great, but if you cannot afford to keep the donations up it is only ever going to end in disaster. This is why you need to take the time to work out your finances and determine what you can comfortably afford.
