Something tells me he didn’t find it funny.
Atif Masood, a 42 year old Tesco worker , is suing one of his fellow colleagues for £20,000 after they farted in his face during a shift.
As a company, Tesco are disputing Masood’s claim, presumably to avoid the hefty payout.
You’re probably thinking, like I did, that the whole thing sounds a little silly, right? Well, here’s where the case gets a little uglier.
As part of his claim, Masood states that he has been the victim of racial discrimination and harassment from his fellow Tesco workers. It seems like the farting incident, rather than being a lighthearted joke, has really hit the nail on the head for Masood.
As the hearing for this case isn’t due to take place until next year, we will have to wait and see what happens, but if you ask me, Tesco should carry out a thorough investigation to ensure that its employees are behaving appropriately to one another.
