TikTok’s increase in popularity has propelled it to join the ranks of Instagram and Pinterest as a fashion platform. Many creators who previously shared YouTube vlogs or Instagram posts now opt for short-form video content that features TikTok fashion trends.

For independent labels & minimalism done right
Lina, of @upperlipsweat96, (she/they) absolutely masters minimalism. The micro influencer gives followers a view into their everyday life working and dressing in New York City. She posts a trademark fit check in their office or outside of her apartment almost every day. Somehow, they’re always wearing something both timeless and trendy at the same time.
I was originally drawn to her due to their authenticity and outfits which are a fun combination of independent brands and thrifted pieces. You can commonly find Lina wearing Geel, Baggu, Tyler McGillivary, and Isabella Vrana.
As a sustainable consumer, Lina is currently participating in the 75 Hard Style Challenge.
The 75 Hard Style Challenge urges fashion TikTokers to share their outfits for 75 days while not buying any new clothes. The challenge is intended to inspire people to find their style using their existing wardrobe. This urges creators to look beyond fast-moving TikTok fashion trends and take a break from buying new items.
Lina further connects with her audience by sharing their travels and marathons she participates in. They also direct followers on how to support movements she’s passionate about, such as Free Palestine.
Lina’s creative hairstyles and daily outfits for the 75 Hard Style Challenge are sure to inspire viewers to shop their existing closets.
For a girly take on classic silhouettes
Vivian, of @vivianyrl, is a PhD student and content creator based in New York City. She commonly posts “get ready with me” videos, outfits she wears to work at the lab, as well as behind-the-scenes designer fittings.
She wears brands with coquette touches like Sandy Liang, Orseund Iris, and Damson Madder, as well as vintage designer pieces.
Following Vivian has introduced me to some new brands like Caspar The Label and Bimba Y Lola. She also inspires me to incorporate more color into my everyday outfits.
In addition to posting about fashion, Vivian shares makeup tutorials and pottery-making videos. She even posts mini vlogs about life in New York City. I’ve saved many of these NYC videos for my next visit!
Vivian’s thoughtful pastel wardrobe and accessories will excite the Sandy Liang girls of the world who tag along on her NYC adventures.
For all things thrifting
You’ve likely heard of @macyeleni if you’re a vintage fan. The self-described “Thrift Queen” has been posting upbeat thrifting videos for years on fashion TikTok. She shares tips on shopping in stores from Goodwill to curated consignment stores to estate sales.
Her wardrobe is an impressive collection of vintage gems. This is an amazing example of what a circular wardrobe (a closet made up of secondhand and repaired clothing) can look like if you know where to shop.
The LA-based creator perfectly exemplifies a Hollywood Y2K aesthetic with eclectic details.
Macy’s haul and styling videos are taken in her enviable closet. A trained eye can spot Juicy Couture, Moschino, Betsey Johnson, and Dooney & Bourke pieces hanging behind her.
Macy recently came out with a book, “Second Chances: The Ultimate Guide to Thrifting, Sustainable Style, and Expressing Your Most Authentic Self.” The book details tips and tricks to build your dream wardrobe sustainably with insights from her years of thrifting experience.
Macy’s high energy and thrifting knowledge are sure to make all who click follow a shopping expert.
For an eccentric twist on luxury
Adrienne’s account, @ageorama, draws you in with her costume-like outfits.
She posts videos wearing clothing inspired by jesters, elves, sailors, and a marching band member. All with a high fashion twist.
As a working model and influencer, her TikToks capture attending events and unpacking PR packages from brands like Danielle Guizio, Marc Jacobs, and Isabel Marant.
Following Adrienne helped shift my view of getting dressed as more fun and playful, and brought out my inner cosplayer.
In addition to TikTok fashion trends, Adrienne also posts some great lifestyle content. This covers moving apartments and decorating her closet. She also shares days out shopping for designer clothing in NYC and dressing up for nights out with her friends.
It’s clear that Adrienne loves playing dress up, follow for tons of out-of-the-box inspiration.
For the goth fashion girls
Almost always dressed in black and covered in patchwork tattoos, Phuongnam of @offpuddinggirl balances a goth color palette with it-girl style.
The content creator based in Brooklyn is also a stylist and model. Many of her videos feature her daily outfits of good-fitting basics and the occasional statement piece made up of vintage designer items.
I love that Phuongnam references the early 2010s in her videos. She often wears skinny jeans, chunky belts, and large bags, once even mentioning Kate Moss and the Olsen twins.
Phuongnam’s fashion videos tend to take on a satirical form. This feels like a welcome change from fashion TikTok creators who can take themselves too seriously. Along with her outfit videos, her TikTok also features behind-the-scenes styling and modeling all around the world, as well as unboxing videos.
Phuongnam’s signature micro bangs, long hair, thin eyebrows, and expertly styled basics make her the perfect follow for the cool girls out there.
Each of these creators has a signature style, whether it’s soft and feminine or minimalist and moody. Hit follow on the creators that best align with your style goals and let the inspiration begin!
