Sydney is no stranger to surfing. Yet, it’s fair to say the sport has remained fairly ocean-dependent. Even when able to use inland wave facilities such as those in Spain, it can hardly be said to replicate the beach experience.

Until now that is, with the arrival of Wisemans Surf Lodge. This $75 million dollar project will not only feature some of the world’s best man made waves, it’ll also include a clubhouse, luxury accommodation, and a golf course.

Sure, investors ripping up a piece of beautiful landscape in order to offer a man-made version of a natural phenomenon may seem at odds with the bohemian surfing community it claims to serve. But hey, whatever floats your board Australia. After all, there’s always tourists.
