San Fransisco is confused and even hurt by the misconception.

Apple Airpods have been a topic of the media for some quite some time now. After coming out in 2016, social media took hold and has transformed the product into memes, a joke, a way to flex on your friends, but in the end— a lot of people either bought them or want them.

A man in San Francisco recently made a city wide prank by praying on the fandom. He made and printed out dozen’s of life-size Airpod stickers and put them all over.

Anyone who has had or has used Apple’s product knows that the little buds are slippery and spendy, meaning they’re often getting lost then found by a lucky unsuspecting bystander. Pablo Rochat, art direct and creator of the stickers, though it would be hilarious to watch this in action.

This got mixed reviews from viewers. Some thought it was genius and the best prank they’d seen in awhile. Some decided it was cruel and heartless to get someone’s hopes up. Subjectively though, what would one do with just one Airpod and no charging case?

Pablo made his sticker templet available on Twitter for anyone to use and print their own, let it begin.
