Seth Rogen is teaching his flock of weed-smoking masses how to smoke cannabis safely and enjoyably in a promotional retro PSA video.
Okay, let’s play a quick game of word association. Cats? You’d probably answer dogs, right. The Police? You may say, a structurally and systemically racist institution designed to protect the interests of the ruling elite (or you may just think those fellas with the funny hats). Now if I said Seth Rogen what would your first thought be? If you know anything about the American comic/actor/writer/director your instant reaction would be weed. And you’d be right. Rogen has built his public persona around all things marijuana. He’s made a number of stoner comedies featuring the heavy consumption of weed; he hosts a weed podcast; he has his own weed company called ‘Houseplant’ and he’s surprisingly gifted at pottery (unrelated, but highly worth checking out). Now he’s venturing into educational content. He has recently released some promotional videos for the aforementioned weed brand in the style of an 80s PSA in order to promote safe weed consumption.
A lot of people are new to smoking weed, so we made some educational videos! Enjoy!!! pic.twitter.com/6xOi7mQf6f

If you only have a passing interest in Seth Rogen, or you’re only into his films then it all seems very silly, and it is don’t get me wrong. But is a fun and aggressively light-hearted way to promote his brand (don’t worry I’m aware of the oxymoron). And the video has gone viral with over 700k views on Twitter. He’s proven he’s still got a knack for this very specific brand of humour and he’s not letting up any time soon. Moreover, not that I smoke weed, but aside from being quite amusing and nostalgically fun to watch, the PSA does have some fairly decent points for consuming and enjoying weed safely (I think, because I don’t smoke weed, it is illegal in the UK and I in no way condone its consumption!) Rogen has recently started veering toward more creative and experimental work as a filmmaker, with talks of his upcoming Buster Keaton-style comedy. But it’s good to see he’s still got a nice fat-packed bowl on the side after a long day of pushing his creative limits.
