Vegans all around the world (including me) are rejoicing as the constant stream of new vegan products becomes available in more and more cities and countries. Especially pizza.
But what happens when your favorite pizza chain is out of vegan cheese? Well, this customer who ordered a vegan pizza from Pizza Express in Hatfield would know. Mary Nesbitt-Larking really wanted a pizza with vegan cheese, but she was informed they were out of vegan cheese. So she did the next best thing, she ordered a pizza without cheese. I mean what else would one do if they were craving the Italian delicacy? So she ordered a pizza, no cheese, with onion and pine nuts. And this is what she got.
Strike one: no vegan cheese. Strike two: no pine nuts. Strike three: what is up with those onions my man. Such a sad looking pie. Mary agreed:
Vegan food options are amazing, and Pizza Express are incredible usually, it was just that one time they failed so epically.
It was so awkward because I’d waited over an hour and at that point I would have eaten anything as long as it was vegan. It tasted like undercooked flat bread with a whole tin of tomatoes over it that were really sour, and had raw, red onions on top.
Apparently Pizza Express apologized and invited her back, on the house. I would be a little skeptical about going back, but hey, free pizza right?
