In honor of LGBTQ+ History Month, Oreo has released limited-edition cookies with rainbow frosting to show their support.
The cookies were realized alongside a short film titled Proud Parent as part of the brand’s partnership with PFLAG National – which runs a number of campaigns in order to promote allyship.
The film follows the love story of two women, Amy and Jen and highlights the challenges faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community, especially when it comes to introducing your partner to your family.
While this is a love story, the major relationship in the film is between Jen and her father.
Regarding the film, the Oreo website reads:
“The film shows the love between Jen and Amy, exploring parent-child relationships and the challenges of bringing a partner home for the first time – especially for the LGBTQ+ community. The film highlights the true importance of family love, support, and affirmation.”
