The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a new hotel opening at Walt Disney World, is still under construction. However, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro releases photos for a sneak peak into the new hotel.

The hotel rooms are reminiscent of the inside of a galactic Starcruiser, offering a unique experience for its guests. The rooms include a ‘window’ exhibiting a view of the galaxy outside, as well as a screen presenting ‘navigation information’.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is set to open at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida some time next year. When opened to the public, the hotel offers guests a captivating, interactive experience on board the Starcruiser.

According to Disney: “In a galaxy far, far away, progress continues at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, where guests will live aboard a starship for a 2-day, 2-night experience. Unlike any typical cruise, though, you can become the heroes of your own Star Wars story in a new type of immersive experience that only Disney could create.”

Once checked into the hotel, you will then enter a ‘Launch Pod’ to be launched into hyperspace, seeing yourself do so through windows above. Soon after, the “Launch Pod” will dock with the Halycon and you will enter the spaceship’s main deck Atrium to commence your journey.

Aboard the spaceship, you will find crew members that appear in the Star Wars movies, as well as activities that will allow you to truly immerse yourself in the Star Wars experience.

Just like the rest of us, 2020 has been a year filled with challenges and adaptation for Disney, given the consequences of COVID-19. However, the company is looking toward the future with hope.

Thomas Smith, editorial content director at Disney Parks, states: “While we never could have imagined what this year would hold for our company, we’ve learned so much: how to share that special Disney Parks magic with our fans at home during the closures of our businesses worldwide; how to reimagine our park, resort, and store experiences to meet new challenges; and how, even amid uncertainty, to plan for what we know are better days are ahead.”

Thanks to Disney, and with 2021 quickly approaching, we now have something new and fascinating to look forward to!
