When the original Borat was released in 2006, it was lauded for showing the uncomfortable truths of Americana. Apparently creator Sacha Baron Cohen has decided it’s time for another look.

After Sacha Baron Cohen was spotted secretly filming earlier this year, official confirmation of the sequel has finally been given. Borat 2, full title ‘Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan’, will be arriving on Amazon Prime at the end of October. Alongside the official trailer above, the spoof Republic of Kazakhstan Twitter account shared another look which you can check out below:

With everything that’s happened in the past 14 years, the question shouldn’t really be why there’s a sequel, but why it’s taken so long. With American politics, and global politics as a whole, being a grab-bag of terrible ideas recently, Sacha really shouldn’t have any trouble coming up with new material. And judging from the reactions online, another Borat is just what people need to get through it all.

It looks like Sacha Baron Cohen is having a resurgence recently, especially when it comes to politics. He’s started openly trolling New York politicians, after all.
