Fans of Jake Gyllenhaal will want to check out one of his movies that’s just been added to Netflix – Prisoners.

This American thriller involves:

Erin Gerasimovich as Anna Dover,
Maria Bello as Grace Dover,
Dylan Minnette as Ralph Dover,
Terrence Howard as Franklin Birch,
Melissa Leo as Holly Jones,
Paul Dano as Alex Jones, and
Dennis Christopher as Mr. Jones.

Denis Villeneuve directed the 2013 production, with the script penned by Aaron Guzikowski. Producers involved in the project were Broderick Johnson, Kira Davis, Andrew A. Kosove, and Adam Kolbrenner.

What are Prisoners starring Jake Gyllenhaal, about?

Prisoners are based around Keller Dover (Jackman), whose six-year-old daughter, Anna (Gerasimovich), and her friend go missing. The synopsis states that there’s only one lead in the parent’s worst nightmare, an old motorhome parked on their street. Gyllenhaal plays the role of Detective Loki, the head of the investigation. He catches the motorhome’s driver, but the detective has to release him due to the lack of evidence. With his daughter’s life in the line, Keller decides to take matters into his own hands to find her.

The film was successful with audiences and grossed around $122 million worldwide at the box office. On the review-aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the movie ranked 81% based on 255 reviews and an 87% audience score based on 100,000 ratings. So those who never checked it out have the chance to do so on Netflix.
