The Stranger is a tense Australian thriller that Netflix has recently acquired. The Stranger was premiered at the Cannes Festival earlier this year and will be released on Netflix in October 2022.

The movie is written and guided by actor and director Thomas M. Wright. Thomas made his directorial debut in 2018’s Acute Misfortune.
The Stranger is produced by See-Saw Films, Anonymous Content, and Blue Tongue Films. Joel Edgerton also stars alongside Sean Harris.

The movie has earned several rave reviews from critics online. The Guardian gave this movie a 5-star review. It also mentioned certain points-
“it’s abundantly clear that The Stranger has crept, assiduously, into brilliance; to call it an unconventionally impressive crime drama is to put it very lightly.”

The Stranger involves two strangers who make up a conversation on a long journey. One is a suspect in a missing person’s case and the other is the undercover operative, who’s on his trail. The core of the tightly wrought thriller is based on their uneasy friendship. It is based on the true story of one of the biggest investigations and undercover operations in Australia.

The performances of both leads in this movie are praised by critics. They are also joined by Steve Mozakis and Jada Alberts.

The Stranger has already made its debut at the Cannes Festival in May 2022 and in August 2022 at Melbourne International Film Festival.

However, It’ll be making its way towards a global Netflix launch in October 2022.
