Netflix has been producing a lot of successful documentaries lately. Starting from Tiger King to The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes.

The film is based on the life of the computer programmer, businessman, and two-time presidential candidate -McAfee. He is the inventor of one of the most used pieces of software: McAfee Anti-Virus. In his prime, the computer genius had an estimated net worth of $100 million. However, when his neighbour was murdered, he disappeared.

After trying to opt. for political office, officials found that he’d failed to file his U.S. income taxes for four years. He disappeared from the country and went to Spain. In October 2020, the Spanish police tracked and arrested him. McAfee died m on June 23rd, 2021, at 75.

The day when he died, the Spanish National Court accepted his extradition to the U.S. According to British GQ, correctional officers found him dead in his cell. McAfee hanged himself hours after the ruling passed.

The news outlet reported that though his death was found to be a suicide, his wife Janice still believes that her husband would never have done that. Conspiracy theories, therefore, started to circulate. Primarily because of a tweet that he posted the day he was arrested.
