What if you snuck out of your house today and ran across a billboard that displayed a spoiler from the Netflix series you are currently binging? No big deal, right? Seeing one may come as a shock or maybe you would laugh. Now, what if you rode around your city and saw spoilers every time you passed a billboard?

The spread of the coronavirus has the world in an uproar, from the comfort of their own homes. It has never been more socially acceptable than now to stay in bed all day and binge watch your favorite Netflix shows. Citizens of all countries, cities and towns alike have been instructed to stay home. All none essential businesses have been closed, so there should not be any reason for people to be out unless it includes running across billboards displaying sensitive imagery.

Matthew Kobach took to Twitter to reveal what is either utter betrayal or the perfect idea to get people to mind the danger of the coronavirus.

The internet cannot stop talking about a bold move made for a student project. A student in the UK decided that a great way to enforce social distancing in their town, was to create billboards that displayed spoilers from everyone’s favorite Netflix series. For example,  Stranger Things and Love is Blind.

Not to worry, Netflix has released a statement refuting responsibility for the billboards:

“Love the Stay At Home message but #NoSpoilersFromNetflix. “These ideas are part of a student project — a creative idea, if we say so ourselves — but they’re not real and not from Netflix.”

While Netflix does not accept responsibility for this exposure it does bring to question if these billboards are going too far.
