Now, we have some pretty questionable plots from horror movies. We have seen shark tornadoes, killer birds, evil carnivorous leprechauns, and we have seen evil gingerbread men. There’s a whole aesthetic dedicated to laughable B-rated, cheesy horror movies complete with special effects, fake blood, and subpar acting. A B-horror comedy is a perfect film to watch and have a good laugh with your friends. However, it appears the new B-horror movie, Slaxx, won’t be making its cut in horror film fandoms.
Slaxx, a horror-comedy about a pair of killer jeans, is slated to release on the horror movie streaming service Shudder in a couple of weeks! The trailer depicts a staff of department store workers who are attacked, dismembered, and gored by the murderous denim pants.
There is a small amount of plot setting up this murder spree: a company has finally created a pair of pants that will shape itself to fit whoever wears them. Because we can’t have nice things, like perfectly fitting pants, all hell breaks loose! The 77 minute run time encapsulates a pretty impressive murder palooza by the pair of jeans, regardless of the lack of hands, weaponry, and brainpower.
Take a moment to process this and watch the trailer below.
The 2020 Canadian film premiered digitally at the Montreal Fantasia International Film festival in August 2020 to lukewarm perception. The audience seemed to get exactly what they would expect from a film centered around killer jeans.
However, don’t count the villainous trousers out. The antagonist demonstrates that it can rip people’s fingers off, dismember them completely, and tear people in half. “How?” You may ask. Don’t ask me!
Slaxx is the product of Canadian filmmaker Elza Kephart, and co-scriptwriter, Patricia Gomez. If you are in the mood for a good laugh, or maybe you are a patron of the horror arts, take a watch on Shudder when it debuts!
Or maybe you should stay on top of Netflix to see a potential drop in the Tiger King season 2!
