After “ditching” BBC for Netflix, he’s back!
David Attenborough, probably best known for narrating nature documentaries, will be returning to BBC with three new documentary series. Our Planet, the 2019 Netflix special, will also be voiced by Attenborough. This Netflix partnership was deemed controversial because many thought Attenborough had chosen the online streaming service for all future endeavors. But he has not turned his back on BBC! He said he was attracted to the Netflix project because of the world-wide reach and the platform style. But fans can rejoice, as Attenborough will narrate Perfect Planet, Planet Earth III, and Frozen Planet II all with the BBC.
Perfect Planet, airing in 2020, will focus on how life is supported on Earth by forces of nature. Planet Earth III, which will air in 2022, has been called “the most ambitious natural history landmark ever undertaken by the BBC.” And Frozen Planet II, airing in 2021, will focus on the wildernesses of the Arctic and Antarctica.
