A new co-production is going on between Netflix and the BBC for the British drama—Champion.

Champion is officially the first TV project for Carty-Williams, and has been termed as a “love letter to Black British music”.

However, there is no confirmed release date for Champion as its filming is supposed to go on until December 2022. Therefore, there is no chance of a release this calendar year.

The drama can be expected to run on Netflix and begin airing on the BBC sometime in Q2 or Q3 of 2023.

Netflix has bought the global rights to the series outside the UK. This implies that the British drama could be streamed on Netflix in every region apart from the UK.

UK subscribers will be able to watch the series on BBC One or watch the series online through BBC iPlayer for free.
