Netflix is currently expanding its collection of spy thrillers, and the latest one in the pipeline is Carry On. It’s produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.

The movie is supposed to be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who worked on projects like The Shallows, Unknown, Jungle Cruise, and Black Adam, both starring Dwayne Johnson.

TJ Fixman created the screenplay’s first draft. However, Michael Green is responsible for the most recent polish. Presently, Fixman is also attached to Netflix’s Past Midnight.

Carry On was first announced in July 2022. It is one of the projects in the pipeline that is produced by Amblin Partners as a part of their overall deal with Netflix. Amblin Partners is led by Steven Spielberg and declared that the deal was struck back in June 2021.

Holly Bario, president of Amblin’s production, is supposed to lead the project on behalf of the studio.

Brian Williams will be involved as an executive producer via Dylan Clark Productions along with Scott Greenberg and Seth William Meier.

Taron Egerton is starring as the lead in Netflix’s Carry On, as Ethan Kopek. Egerton’s latest projects include The Kingsman, Rocketman, and Black Bird. These projects have been massive hits among the audience.

Netflix, however, hasn’t announced any dates regarding Carry On’s release. But considering its very early development stage, we can expect a late 2023 or 2024 release date.
