Most actors losing their jobs in 2020 have been devastated, but seemingly not Alec Baldwin who is reportedly ‘overjoyed’ to lose his gig playing Donald Trump on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
Since September 2016, the political comedian has divided viewers with his portrayal of the 45th president.
With the 2020 US Election declaring Joe Biden president-elect, it would appear NBC will no longer be requiring Baldwin’s Trump performances anymore.
Baldwin took to Twitter post his feelings: “I don’t believe I’ve ever been this overjoyed to lose a job before! … It will be comforting when we have a President who doesn’t Tweet twice as much as I do … They’re gonna need an enormous shipment of tissues sent to Mar-a-Lago.
“On to my next wish. That everyone who voted in this election maintains that commitment and votes in the 2022 midterm elections. Let’s keep this going!!!”
Saturday Night Live’s audiences are bound to be as divided as ever, with viewers who enjoyed Baldwin’s portrayal of Trump missing him dearly; and others who will be equally ‘overjoyed’ at his departure for the show.

Nevertheless, viewers will have Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph’s Joe Biden and Kamala Harris impression to look forward to, as the next President of the United States steps up to the role.
Unlike Baldwin, Nigel Farage is less than overjoyed after losing his £10,000 bet that Trump would win the election…
