No one would say they disliked him if you questioned any Stranger Things fan about Dustin Henderson. He’s my favorite of the kids, and the role is brought to life by great actor Gaten Matarazzo!

You can’t help but like the young adolescent since he’s so sweet and lovable.

This was Matarazzo’s breakout role, as it was for many of the other performers on the Netflix Original. On television, at least. Do you think you know everything about the rising star? We’ve included a few interesting facts below!

A Broadway performer

Gaten Matarazzo, now 19, began his Broadway career at ten! In Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, his role was Benjamin, and in Les Misérables, he played Gavroche.

The audition was for Mike Wheeler.

Matarazzo is so good as Dustin that it’s difficult to see him in another role. It may, however, have occurred! The actor first auditioned for the position of Mike. Can you imagine!?

Accidentally famous

So, how did the skill emerge at such an early age? His two sisters have been in ads on television. The manager asked him if he wanted to perform as well when he went to an interview with one of his siblings. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Not unknown co-stars

Matarazzo knew Caleb McLaughlin, who portrays Lucas Sinclair, from their time on Broadway before being cast in Stranger Things. They also knew another of their co-stars, Sadie Sink, from her time on stage!
