The announcement many have been waiting 10 years for.

Right now, there are plenty of video games that get people going. Currently, the number one game in the world is League of Legends, followed by Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege.

Still, just because those games are keeping people entertained at the moment doesn’t mean they can’t get excited about upcoming games. That is especially true considering Electronic Arts recent announcement that Skate 4 is currently in production.

A release date has yet to be mentioned for the fourth instalment of the series, but giving fans the knowledge that a new game is coming is something to hang their hats on. After all, Skate 3 is 10 years old.

I never played any of the Skate games growing up. Madden, NBA 2k, and MLB The Show were more up my alley. However, I did play Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 and I can confidently say it is one of my favorites of all-time.

I don’t know how similar the Skate series is compared to the Tony Hawk games, but I can imagine the difference isn’t vast. At the end of the day, all the game is skateboarding. That may come off as a jab at the game, but – as I said – I have been a fan of skateboarding games: that hasn’t changed either.

Getting older video games have interested me less and less. But after seeing the world’s reaction to EA’s news, Skate 4 may hit my hands the day it comes out (whenever that may be).

Besides, I can’t skateboard or do any cool tricks in real life: that’s what I have a Playstation for. I can pretend I am in the NFL when I’m playing Madden, in the NBA when I play 2K and pretend I can grind rails and soar up half-pipes when I get the chance to snag Skate 4.
