Don’t F**k With Cats: A New Netflix Documentary

Netflix is releasing a three-part documentary about killer Luka Magnotta on Dec 18.

In 2012, Luka Magnotta posted a YouTube video entitled “1 Lunatic, 1 Ice Pick”.  In it, Magnotta stabbed international student Jun Lin to death, before dismembering it and having sex with various body parts. He was found not long after in an internet cafe, reading articles about himself.

So what does that have anything to do with cats? Well, in 2010, Luka posted a video online entitled “1 boy 2 kittens”, in which he suffocated two small kittens. This prompted an group of strangers online to band together in order to find him. They called themselves “Animal Beta Project”

It is this vigilante group that the new Netflix documentary seems to focus on, tying into a tradition of focusing on people other than the killers. Just earlier this year, Netflix released “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile”, a Ted Bundy documentary that focused mainly on his then-girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer.

It seems as if this documentary could have a similar focus, leading away from the gory details of the crimes and focusing more on the people affected by them. However, it is hard to say until “Don’t F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer” is released on December 18.
