When Alesha Dixon pushed her Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent, it meant that all the golden confetti for this season had now descended. While there will still be more acts progressing through to the final stages, none of them will have the special status of having been picked out, especially by one of the judges to go straight through to the live shows. Of course, getting the early star treatment does not guarantee success, but it is undoubtedly a good ego boost for the performers who get this praise.

Amanda Holden

Amanda Holden was the first judge to select an act by this method. She chose singer Loren Allred who hails from Brooklyn. You may not have heard of her name, but you will almost certainly have listened to her voice. She sang Never Enough from The Greatest Showman to get chosen. She also sang the song for the movie, and her voice was dubbed over actress Rebecca Ferguson’s voice for the part of Jenny Lind.

Simon Cowell

Simon gave comedian Axel Blake the Golden Buzzer treatment. Cowell was impressed with Blake’s stand-up routine. The observational comedian is no stranger to the limelight. He has presented for UNILAD and SBTV, and his own comedy videos have gone viral in the past. The 33-year-old property manager will be hoping that comedy will be the winning ticket this year.

David Walliams

Actor and funny man Walliams decided that the disabilities dance group Born to Perform where the act to get behind this year. The dance troupe from Northampton took to the stage and romped their way to success with a routine to the tune of You Can’t Stop the Beat. The song is from the musical Hairspray.

Ant and Dec

The zany presenters of the show have also been able to choose their favourite act. This year they were mesmerized by magician Keiichi Iwasaki’s incredible tricks. The 49-year-old from Japan was already wowing the judges and the audience. He was about to go through to the judges’ acclaim. At that moment, Ant and Dec rushed down to the desk and hit their Golden Buzzer for him. Iwasaki had already wowed them in an audition with a card trick, so they were keeping their eyes out for him.

Alesha Dixon

There are no more Golden places to be claimed with heats still to happen. Alesha Dixon buzzed hers for Flintz and Taylor. The duo consists of 22-year-old Flintz, a rapper from Croydon, and 17-year-old Taylor, who plays the piano. Taylor hails from Birmingham. The pair had teamed up on Instagram during the pandemic, but their Britain’s Got Talent performance was the first time they had met up in real life. They performed an original song called Change that Flintz said was about inspiring his younger brothers.

Public Votes Matter

It will be interesting to see how far this year’s acts get in the competition and if they can win the same place in the audience’s hearts as they have in the judges. What are the odds that any of them will make a big enough impression to get the public vote? After all, it is the public vote that matters. For members of the public who want to have a go at being a judge for themselves, they can play the Megaways Britain’s Got Talent slot game using no deposit bonus codes. The game even has its very own Golden Buzzer.

The first person who went on to win Britain’s Got Talent after being buzzed through by Ant and Dec’s Golden Buzzer was John Courtenay. The singing comedian went on to win the 2020 series with an emotional rendition of the patriotic song Small Things. The second-placed act that final had also been Golden Buzzered through. They were a sign language choir called Sing Along with Us.

Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV on Saturday nights at 8 pm. The prize up for grabs is a cool £250,000 plus the chance to perform at The Royal Variety Performance.
